Why you should start blogging…
Updated: Feb 26

I love getting my thoughts down on paper. Not literally obviously as I type them on a laptop, but I’m sure you all understand! It hasn’t been easy dealing with dad being sick, getting tested, my future and general growing up life problems. Attending University and being a teenager! I’m sure I haven’t given my mum an easy time. I started this blog two years ago because I have a voice and I want to use it. I know I’ve been a bit useless with how consistent I am at posting but I’m trying to improve. Huntington’s disease was kept a secret and hidden in so many families, and sadly in some still is. My life is an open book thanks to this blog and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I never stop talking and everyone who knows me will agree with this!! But for once talking is a good thing, talking about how hard it is, how shit you feel at times and also how happy small things can make you. The good, the bad and the ugly. If a loved one suffers from Huntington’s disease you are not alone, there are hundreds of us in Northern Ireland going through similar situations, and there are thousands worldwide! I like to throw in the odd random post also, maybe New Year Resolutions, or Books I was to read, just to show you all I have a life and thoughts outside bitching about HD. I find it a great way to release your thoughts and feelings, you don’t have to upload your posts online, or you can and keep the private or even just let certain people see them. Remember when you were a kid and kept a diary about your feelings and thoughts from the day, it’s like that only using a laptop and millions of people read it….. Maybe don’t post about the boy you have a crush on!! Give it a try, find something you are passionate and out pen to paper. Or fingers to key boards!
